Significant International Experience In Key Markets

We have developed significant expertise in the cross-border issues in a transactional context in sophisticated Capital Markets transactions, across our Private Funds practice and in joint ventures, market entry and international technology ventures particularly in Europe and Asia.

Our attorneys have significant direct international experience. They have resided in cities such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, and Moscow in a professional capacity, sometimes for years. Our attorneys are able to conduct business in German and Spanish, as well as an advanced level of proficiency with Mandarin Chinese.

We have worked with clients, mostly Private Funds, in building global legal infrastructure in and for key growth markets around the world. For example, we assisted one of our Private Funds clients in building an exit for one of their portfolio companies in Vietnam and assisted others with on the ground due diligence of potential acquisition targets in China in industries such as financial services, food and beverage, and robotics.

These markets typically pose challenges for international companies and in many regions the operating and regulatory environments can be characterized as dynamic and evolving at a significant pace. In addition to experience in working with local governments and regulators, we have significant experience with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Minnesota Department of Commerce regarding international trade and other international issues including in the healthcare sector.
